Inspection
Our most recent OFSTED school inspection
took place in March 2004. A summary was distributed to all parents.

The post OFSTED action plan forms
an integral part of our School Improvement Plan. We also had a Section
23 Inspection. This focuses on Collective Worship, Religious Education
and School Ethos.
Our playgroup and after school club were also inspected
in 2004. The report was tremendously positive. Read

School Improvement Plan
Our School Improvement Plan (S.I.P.) for this year focuses on a number of items. The content of this plan is decided during the Summer term of last year, based on various factors. External assessment, such as visits from the Local Education Authority, OFSTED and SATS results all contribute. Our own School Self Evaluation shows us where we need to make changes and improvements, and finally, so do the thoughts and ideas of the children and parents, gleaned through methods such as School Council and the Parents’ Questionnaire. Clearly staff’s evaluations are also a significant part of the S.I.P. This year, the major areas of focus are as follows:
-
The Learning Environment and Culture of the school
-
Building our Learning Power (BLP)
-
Gifted and Talented Children – extending provision, whilst continuing to main high standards of support for those children with special needs and those children who are learning at the appropriate level for their age.
-
Car parking – finding ways to ease the difficulties
-
The school building – continuing to work on getting a new hall
-
Writing – continuing to help children write and enjoy writing
Achievement Awards
Our school has been recognised three times by the
DFES (2001, 2002 & 2003) for our improvement in key stage 2
national assessments.
Investors In People
We were successful in gaining this accreditation in
the summer of 2001. It confirms the school's commitment to the personal
and professional development of the whole staff. The report contained
many positive comments including:
. . . Lady Katherine Leveson CE Primary School is
very committed to ensuring an appropriate quality of opportunity
for all staff . . .
. . . Direct links are made within school between
the impact of training and development and improved pupil performance
through the monitoring and evaluation of curriculum and improved
learning opportunities . . .
The three-year review took place in July 2004. The
report was excellent, identifying how the school has built on the
established processes in 2001. To view a copy of the report, please
contact the school.
