Job Description
Care Assistant
1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To work with residents to maintain independence by creating opportunities
which take into account personal choices and preferences enabling
individuals to exercise control over their life's direction and personal
affairs. In doing so, to meet resident's physical, social, health
and emotional needs in accordance with the philosophy and core values
of the Foundation
2. SCOPE OF THE JOB
- To be involved and contribute towards the general care and well
being of all persons involved in and using the services of the home
within the policies of the Foundation
- To be directly involved in the personal care of residents
To work with individual residents providing emotional support and
encouraging social interaction
- To work in partnership with residents encouraging choice, participation,
motivation and risk taking, adhering at all times to the values of
the resident
- To develop professionally through experience and training
3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- NVQ Level II in Care or the commitment to obtain this qualification
within two years
- Oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of working with older people who require
personal care and physical support
