Working with North Woods Construction and Ralph Ogg & Partners, Locate were asked by Ullaspool to investigate a proposed extension to their successful pool. First operational in 1994, the pool has accommodated around 30,000 users a year and increasing, leading to pressure on many of the facilities.
 
The proposed extension will completely re-work and enlarge the existing entrance and reception area, adding an improved viewing area, improved and extended showering and changing facilities, a Jacuzzi and larger and more flexible ‘Multi-purpose Room’ for community use.

Our proposals aim to keep the informal atmosphere whilst achieving a much more spacious and transparent series of spaces. Energy efficiency will be key, along with maintenance and flexibility. The project is immediately adjacent to ‘An Talla Solais’ and with the goodwill of each Client group, it has been possible to develop both projects to some extent together, particularly with regard to a shared landscape scheme with which we will hopefully effect a much more pleasant space between, and to the benefit of both.
