Fife Council have appointed Locate to develop initial designs, costs and overall feasibility for a 'sustainable' business incubator unit on a sensitive site in Burntisland on the Fife coast.

One of a suite of similar projects proposed around Fife, this project however seeks to develop both the sustainability agenda, and an attention to quality of materials due to the site, close to the town centre and immediately adjacent to the Links.

Taking the BREEAM checklist for offices as a starting point, the scheme has sought to develop a more meaningful sustainability agenda, with a low energy and healthy building, higher than average quality landscape proposals, and most significantly, an intention to develop a local community based ownership and management framework.

Locate are working with Cost Consultants Ralph Ogg & Partners in Perth.
