  • standard clear polypropylene (PP) card bags in five sizes
  • 26mm fold-over lip can be tucked in or sealed with sticker
  • offer best current solution while a suitable recycled plastic film is unavailable (see below).

Why not cellophane?
While cellophane would be preferable in terms of renewable resources, it is too biodegradeable for packaging displayed items with an extended shelf life such as greetings cards, because it discolours in UV light (and will eventually disintegrate).

Polypropylene is considered the least harmful of the plastics to manufacture and can easily be recycled (though currently not into clear film for making bags). We have decided to stock these in response to many requests from card-makers, but will continue to search for a more environmentally-friendly alternative - if you know of a such a product, please let us know.
